THE CONCEPT: Ujuzi Initiative - Unleash and Youth Potential
- An innovative idea of training Women and Youth to give them set of skills to employ themselves and potentially employ others.
- With the booming unemployment rate, our youth cannot afford to sit back and wait for the formal employment, instead they need to invest and grab opportunities offered in booming Tanzanian cities and in fields of art& craft, design& tailoring, makeup &hairstyling and jewelry design.
- In our country, the lack of entrepreneurship and life skills education is the combination of school curriculums neglecting vocational, entrepreneurial and employability training in favor of more traditional academic, poor connections between the private sector and schools to promote training and work experience and lack of instruction in how to harness life skills most students already have.
- The problem of youth unemployment it has been associated with the increase of teenage pregnancy, social unrest and drug addiction.
- The centers will not only train and leave them on the street with their skills, but will guide them through the whole phase of starting up their own business and nurturing them through the process.
- This project will give women and youth skills that are highly needed in the market to fulfill market void.
